In-person training in Newcastle

In May we hosted a Newcastle event to inspire, to encourage, and to give community language school teachers in our region fresh ideas for their teaching.

This event focussed on Classroom Management skills and using games in language classes.

We were inspired by the language skills of students from Balar Malar, Newcastle Tamil School and Eine Kleine Deutsche Schule (our local German school) and thank the students, their teachers and parents for their beautiful contribution to our event.

We welcomed teachers from Alliance Francaise de Newcastle, Balar Malar Newcastle, Eine Kleine Deutsche Schule, Hunter Chinese Language School, Hunter Japanese Community School, Newcastle Sinhala School, Pinoy Cultural Class, Russian School of Newcastle, and Zainab Afghan Language School.

We also welcomed Mrs Hilary Hughes, Director, Community Languages & International Programs | Student Support & Specialist Programs, Schools Performance North, NSW Department of Education.

You can see a little of this event here.

The Classroom Management tools that I shared can be found in our Classroom Management Course.

Thanks to the NSW Community Languages Schools Program and Multicultural NSW for supporting this event.
